Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories
Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories

The Turnigy Accucel 6 Balance Charger utilises quality FETs and resistors to accurately balance and charge Lithium Polymer and NiMH batteries.
The Accucel-6 will handle LiPo/LiFe up to 6S and NiMH/NiCd up to 15S and shows individual cell voltage during charge with realtime updates throughout the charge cycle.
The intuitive menu system means charging and cycling is an easy process and can be done quickly and accurately either at the field by using a 12v input such as a car battery or at home with a 12v power supply.
Bundled with the Accucel-6 is a bunch of input and output wires which should satisfy any charging requirement.

ATTENTION.
There are several chargers now entering the China market that look similar to the Accucel. These chargers are produced with cheaper FETs and are unfortunately much less accurate and very unsafe. There has been reports of the copied chargers over-charging packs and not balancing correctly.
The Accucel-6 is the first charger in the market with this PCB layout Circuit design. Any charger with the same circuit diagram is most definitely a copy. We have tested the copied chargers ourselves, their componentry is of a very low quality and the manufacturing company that has produced the copy has used a process of duplicating our CPU(MCU)s hex file and flashed a similar chip(MCU) to produce a similar product. This means they do not have the original code and therefore cannot bug-test(QC) or update the charger at any point.
Our chargers have CE and RoHS certification, proving their safety.
Plus, thousands of customers the world over have used our chargers with excellent results.
Your batteries are expensive. We understand this and thats why we will not carry low-quality charging devices.
Trust only in TURNIGY® quality charging devices.

I have a problem with this charger... When I first got mine, it worked fine, but now when I try to charge any of my 2S Lipo packs it give me the following error as soon as I hold in the start button for more than 3 secs. "Battery Check High Voltage" When I charge a 3S Lipo, the charger starts charging the battery but after a few seconds it give me "Connection Break" If I then use the same charge/battery leads on my SuperNova Competition charger, it all works fine. My 2S and 3S batteries charge fine.
   Turpin (100%)
do you connect and - and balance connector ?
   SeanV (100%)
Hi.. Yeah I tried it on Lipo "Normal" and also Lipo Balance charge (With the batt then plugged into the balance port) but I still get the same error.

I start charging and after a few seconds it beeps and reads BREAK DOWN the manual isn't really clear on this reading. any ideas?
   Saurabh (98%)
can you describe exactly the steps that you take.
   arfonzo (60%)
Is provably the input voltage is the problem.
Try to conect to the battery car to test it. If works, the input voltage is the problem.

Alfonso
   Saurabh (98%)
please ensure you use a min 15V DC supply * atleast 5 Amps. then you should not have this problem.
   modelpro (100%)
The connections are not good check your lipo packs.
   Bob (100%)
I have been using it for about 10 months and works great on everything. The last time it worked I was charging a 6 cell lipo. I tried different batteries and it appears to be working then after a couple seconds " BREAK DOWN" appears
   Miroslav (67%)
Did you attach both charging plug AND balancing plug? If not, do so. Other wise look how wiring looks like, maybe some of your cables are broken.
   Saurabh (98%)
It has to be cables. No other reason for the charger to shout "break down". Please check your cables throughly and then if everything looks fine, check with another battery... if still the prob persists, open the charger and check for connections inside.
   ASSELIN (91%)
Hello, the message is "connection break" or "break down" ?
   Bob (100%)
It reads "break down" I checked it with a amp meter and it is not putting any out but can recognize battery voltage and a connection break. I think it is just broke!
   Saurabh (98%)
if under replacement, send it back for warranty. but shipping may be a killer... or just buy a new one :) $23.00 cheap... and then u get $4 credit for your next purchase... what else do you expect from a $19.00 charger... :)
   Sfakias (35%)
Check that your connections are solid. If they are, chances are that you got a defective one. A friend of mine had the same problem. Actually, during the few seconds that it was charging, it displayed 7 amps(!) and no voltage on cell#1. It was a defective charger. Just bought another one since sending it back don't worth the hassle.

Rodolfo (40%)
Hahaha! Another question. I have the adapter to charge 2 3s lipos but how does one arrange the connections to properly charge/balance two batteries.
   Saurabh (98%)
Ok. If you have the adapter for connecting 2 3 cell batteries in series, it is good. All you need to do is this...

1.) Connect the balance plugs of both the batteries to the adapter.
2.) Do not connect the main discharge lead of the batteries to anything.
3.) Power on the charger.
4.) Goto Lipo - Balance Charge and set the charge current.
5.) connect the adapters 6 cell port to the 6 cell port of the charger.
6.) Connect the main leads of the charger to the main leads coming out of the ADAPTER. ( ve to ve and -ve to -ve)
7.) Press and hold the start button to start the charging process.
   arfonzo (60%)
Try to create a connector to plg both batteries in serial with the charger. Then you will charge both batteries at same time.

Alfonso
   Sfakias (35%)
Be careful here: the pack with the black wire going directly to the charger (the red goes to the other pack) MUST be connected with its black balance plug wire to the black wire of the balance plug adapter. The same for the red wires of the other pack. If you connect them the other way, be ready for a 22.4V LiPo short-circut, capable of melting the connectors!
   Jawahar (-20%)
charge/balance only one at a time !!!

Hi everyone, it's me again. I finally got an adequate psu, but now I need some confirmation. I'm attempting to charge a 1.8A 3S 20C battery. I'm doing this under the balance program which is set to 1.8A 11.1V(3s). Is this the correct opperation? Will the charger stop charging when full? And is there a need to charge under the charge program if one always preffer to charge/balance their batteries? Thanks much!
   Saurabh (98%)
Hi Rodolfo,
First what is the capacityof the battery... if it is 1800mah, then it is fine... make sure you do not charge your lipo at more than a recommended charge rate.
Yes, the charger will stop charging automatically once the batteries are complete. Balance charge program is the best way to charge your Lipos and balance them. Go ahead.. everything looks kool.
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.
   arfonzo (60%)
Yes their are the correct setings. When charge is full the charger stops.

Alfonso
   scaryaaron (22%)
1.8 amps would be correct for charging an 1800 mah battery at 1c. The charger will stop when the battery is full. If you balance charge then there is no need to regular charge. Balance charging will both charge the battery and balance each cell.
   Sfakias (35%)
The way you are balancing is the correct one. Do not bother about the charge function, unless you really do not care about balancing, and you are in a hurry.
   Jason (100%)
I always balance when I charge. If you plug in the balance plug it works automatic
8/5/2010
fearo (80%)
Anyone? my PSU is 3,1A. How much A should I balance-charge my lifepo 4500 2S2P turnigy's with? (manual says that balancing requires 300 mah/cell).
   Saurabh (98%)
2 cell Lipo = 3.6 * 2 = 7.2V
Total Input power to the charger assuming it is a 15v supply = 15*3Amps = 45Watts
Taking the efficiency of the charger * 80%, total Output of the charger = 45*80% = 36Watts

Hence max charge current = 36 / 7.2 = 5 Amps.

Please do not exceed 5 amps charging current.
   Echo51 (42%)
If only charing though the balance leads, it would do as you can charge at a max of 1.5A though those, but with main lead connected aswell, you should stick around 3A

hadirabie (32%)
i bought 2 of these..both were working great until one of them is always showing the first lipo cell with a very low charge..for example if im charing a 3s battery.. the first cell is always displayed incorrect and the other 2 are displayed correctly.i checked the batteries with a diffrent charger and the batteries are ok.
any of you guys have that problem ?

   llbr22 (100%)
I'm currently having this same problem, on the 2nd cell reading. It's reading low, and therefore overcharging it past 4.20. Any way to correct this? i.e. calibrate the reading of that one cell?
   Saurabh (98%)
hi,

calibration of individual ports is not possible with this charger.
   llbr22 (100%)
Thanks for the response. I definitely have one bad voltage port. It's not allowing me to use the balance function because in that mode it overcharges the cell... dangerous.
   Richard (84%)
You can calibrate the charger if you feel the readings are a little incorrect.

For calibrating this charger follow these steps:

1.) Power off the charger.
2.) Press and hold the (dec" and "start" buttons.
3.) Power on the charger. (you will hear 3 beeps in a row). Keep the buttons pressed.
4.) You will enter into the calibration screen where the voltage detected by the charger is displayed on the screen (voltage on output leads).
5.) Attach any battery to the output leads of the charger.
6.) Using a digital multimeter, correct the reading of the voltage by pressing "inc" or "dec" buttons till the reading matches with that of the multimeter.
7.) Press "Stop" when you are done.
8.) Your charger is calibrated now.
   Sfakias (35%)
I had this problem also - it was a faulty charger...
   llbr22 (100%)
Agreed, calibrating doesn't fix individual cell reading errors. i'm returning mine.

fearo (80%)
I just bought this and have a 14,5V 3.1A charger with 55watt. So much Amps can I charge my 4500mah lifepo's with? The manual says that cell-balancing takes 300mah/cell (so 1,2A for 4 cells). My packs are 2S2P, so would that mean I should charge at 3,1A - 1,2A = 1,9A? Or should I use 3,1A?
   fearo (80%)
I meant to say 'how much amps can I charge my 4500mah lifepo's with?'
   Saurabh (98%)
do not exceed 5 Amps charging current. Please see above post for details.

Babu (36%)
Can I use SMPS ? computer supply with this? If yes, then which wires to connect ?
   Saurabh (98%)
Yes, you can surely use an SMPS as a power supply for this charger... Buddy, i suggest you do not do anything that you dont know.. It is not recommended to trial and error with smps. it could burn or even harm you... catch fire etc... usually there is a 12 V rail on the SMPS. You want to use the 12V rail and the BLACK common wire to power the charger. The ground wire is usually black and the 12V rail is usually yellow. But check on the box before you use it. and then check with a DMM.
Hope this helps.
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.
   Babu (36%)
Thanks dude. this helped. My SMPS has yellow and black
   Sfakias (35%)
I use it with computer power supply with no problems. Connect the Ground (black) to the charger's power input black cable, and the 12V (usually yellow)to the red charger cable. I had to connect all the yellow wires of my power supply together, to avoid voltage drop high enough to shut it down, but this depend on the watts rating of your power supply.

David_RS (77%)
if the biggest battery I will charge is 1300mah is it enough power a dc 12v 2.5A power supply? Thanks for your answers, I do not know to much about this.
   JoachimJ (88%)
1300mAh in itself is not enough to answer your question. It depends primarily on your charge current and charge voltage, and even with that information, it is not possible to say for sure since the charger itself uses power too, to power the display, and there are losses in the power conversion. If you charge a 1300mAh pack in one hour, you're using 1300mA or 1.3A charge current. That times the charge voltage (a little higher than the pack's voltage) gives you the number of watts output. Add in losses (30%?) and what the charger itself uses to power the display etc (10W?) and you get an estimate. If the charger doesn't want to charge the pack, and you're suspecting it's because the power supply isn't giving enough power, try lowering the charge current and see if it works. Also, the balancing charging function may be gentler on the power, as it probably charges a single cell at a time. (somebody correct me if I'm wrong here)
   Shonen (43%)
the amperage of your power supply does not dictate how big of a battery you can charge. You may charge any size pack, but the charge current will be limited so it will take longer.
   Saurabh (98%)
To keep it simple, Yes if you charge your 3S 1300mah battery using this supply, then charge at 1.3A and it should be ok.
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.
   David_RS (77%)
Ok, thanks for your answers.
   Saurabh (98%)

Can i please request you to credit the best answer... and lets make it a practice as this would surely encourge other members to help others :) What say !!
   Saurabh (98%)
Thanks David !!!
   arfonzo (60%)
The current of tha power supply depends to the current you need to charge tha battery. With 2.5 A you can charge at 2A .... not more.
   Chrisfatboy (100%)
You should get a 5amp power supply.
   Rodolfo (40%)
Thank you for the replies everyone. I got a 12V 6A power supply and it's working perfectly.

Hi,I have a dc 12v 2.5A but it does not work with the charger, it does not turn on. is the power supply not ok for the charger?
   Saurabh (98%)
Check the polarity of the pins... ensure you apply positive of the supply to the positive of the charger and negative to negative.

   David_RS (77%)
It works, the cable was wrong and I fixed it. I've already uploaded several small nimh and lipo batteries and now I'm trying to charge a 3s 11.1v 800mAh but it tells me: battery check ... Low Voltage. And if I set like 2s it recognizes it. Does this mean that a cell is dead?. can I recover it somehow? thanks for your answers.
   JoachimJ (88%)
Since it is a 50W charger, it needs at least that much as input. 12V * 2.5A is only 30W. I'd guess it needs at least a 5A 12V DC source 6A or more to be on the safe side.
   David_RS (77%)
But if the biggest battery I will charge is 1300mah is it not enough power? Thanks for your answers, I do not know to much about this.
   JoachimJ (88%)
Sorry for my earlier reply. I saw your question listed as unanswered in my 'account' page for products I own. I wasn't aware that the question could have (several) answers but still be flagged as unanswered. As for your question: The pack has probably been discharged too deeply and doesn't fit the specifications for a 3S LiPo's voltage anymore. What does it say when you plug it into the balancing plug? You can try to revive a higher specced (3S in your case) battery by charging it as a lower specced (2S in your case) battery for a short while just to get the voltage up to higher levels, then switch to the correct charging. However, do this in a fireproof environment and under constant supervision, as the battery may be damaged and may react violently to charge. Also, you must use the balancing function when switching to the correct battery spec. Otherwise, if the battery has two ok cells and a dead one, the two Ok cells will be overcharged, possibly resulting in fire or explosion.
   ALCARAFA (74%)
Not enough power, sorry.
   David_RS (77%)
Joachim it worked. I charged it about 10 seconds like 2s and after this I stoped it, I selected 3s and it worked. I have used the battery 2 times and it works perfect. Thanks Joachim.
   Miroslav (67%)
It should work. Check however polarity of your power supply. It should be ( ) in the middle and (-) outside.
   JoachimJ (88%)
Glad to hear it worked, David!

   David_RS (77%)
Yes, is it ac to dc, sorry I wrote it wrong. Then, is it ok dc 12v 2.5A?
   Saurabh (98%)
yes 12v DC is fine but, the amp is too less. you should use a 12v 5 amps supply... but you can still use the one you have. Just take care that you do not use the charger for more than 25 watts. i.e. volts X Amps = Watts. Use this to calculate the output watts. do not exceed 25W on the current supply.
   JoachimJ (88%)
Is it AC or DC? 12V AC is not Ok, and you also need a more powerful PSU, as per my earlier reply.
   ishady (63%)
Please try with a 12Volt and 5Ampere adaptor. Mine work with that one. Thanks.

Did you get a cooling fan abnormal noise while charge and discharge ? Also how improve it ?
   Saurabh (98%)
Hi Tayothin,

There is no abnormal noise from the fan. It runs quietly. I am not sure if this is just with me or with everyone else. These fans are brushless fans, not much can be done to cut the noise. All I can suggest is to check if you can get like one from the computer shop and replace it yourself. Hope this helps.
Cheers!!!
   Miroslav (67%)
Open charger, remove screws that keep fan in place, remove plastic sticker from fan. Now you have exposed a fan axle. Drop 1-2 drops of thin ball bearing oil in there. There you go, super smooth and quiet fan. Keep in mind! Opening charger while plugged in can fry your fingers (and charger) and void your warranty.

How to cycle LiPo batteries with this charger? can't find the option in the menu, I see it printed on the charger(charge/discharge cycle=5) and mentioned in manual, but not for LiPo.
   Saurabh (98%)
Hi Reskovic,

Unfortunately, there is no option to cycle Lipo on this charger. The cycle option is available only for NiMh and NiCd batteries.
Generally, you dont need to cycle Lipos... do you??
Hope this helps :)

You can not cycle LiPo automatically - only NiMh or NiCd. Just discharge your LiPo and then charge it, as many times as you want.

I have a laptop power supply here that I would like to use for this charger. It's a Gateway LiteOn 50-60Hz 19V 3.42A 65W. Will it work? Any limitations?
   Saurabh (98%)
no.. input voltage is limited to 17v only please. Do not use the 19V supply or else it may burn the charger.
   Peckes (27%)
I won't use it with 19V
   fordfm (46%)
No. Input Voltage: 11~17v. 19V burn charger.
   arfonzo (60%)
The power supply range is 10.0~18.0 Volt.
   dertuman (58%)
It wont work. The voltage should be 12v and not 19v, I think you would most likely fry the unit. Also, you need more than 3.42A, at least 5A.
   arfonzo (60%)
The power supply range is 10.0-18.0 Volt.
3.4 Amp is enought to charge at least at 2 Amp.
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.
   Miroslav (67%)
Pretty sure it's not recommended to use input voltage higher then 16V. I would recommend you to buy a iMAX 15V 5A power supply. ***********hobbycity****/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6477 I'm using it and works really really great together with Accucell-6.
   Chrisfatboy (100%)
You really need 5 amps.
   Echo51 (42%)
11-18Volts only, you could try but i doubt it will work
   Jawahar (-20%)
it will work fine if you set lower Amp rating

So mine goes crazy while charging a LiIon pack of 2s4p configuration. During the balanced charging process, the individual cell voltage readings jump all the way up & down, up to -0.4V. Sometimes they stabilize and stay stable.
The current reading fluctuates sometimes too. If I charge at 3A, it may suddenly drop to 2A or 1.5A and then return back to 3A.
What may be wrong? I'm gonna take it apart and check for ***r soldering, but maybe someone faced a similar issue, so I'd be glad to hear any thoughts.
No issues when charging an 1s battery cell.
And yes, I have connected everything correctly.
   Dmytro (55%)
This turned out to be a loose balancing plug which didn't provide reliable contact. Took the plug apart, tightened the contacts, and now everything works perfectly.

Stephen (70%)
Just want to confirm: You ONLY connect the balance port from the lipo to this charger?

Because the connections on the other wires shown don't match anything on my lipo...
   Meehly (50%)
no jou must olso connect the plus and the mines power
   Miroslav (67%)
No, you have to connect battery to both charging port AND balancing port. If your battery packs don't have XT60 connector, you will have to make an adapter or charge connectors.
   Chrisfatboy (100%)
No.. You should connect the main charging leads in addition to the balance port.

You may have to change the connectors from the charger to whatever is on your battery or in my case.. I got the 5.5mm connectors (from HK) and changed all my batteries as well as the charger.
   Sfakias (35%)
You must connect the main connector of the LiPo to the charger too. If you have connectors that do not match, do some soldering.

Want to charge Rhino 460 maH 2S lipo's.

Is this the right charger?

Does it charge through the balance port or through the power wires? Do you have to connect BOTH the balance port and power wires?

Does it have the right connections for the Rhino 2S 460 mAH Lipo?

Thanks!
   Saurabh (98%)
It has all the required stuff to charge the batteries mentioned and the components you have mentioned. It is perfect for this battery.
   misterq (42%)
yep good charger for that purpose, to balance charge lipos you must have both the power connection and balance connection made to the charger.
   fordfm (46%)
You have to connect BOTH the balance port and power wires.
   dertuman (58%)
I think you have to connect both the balance port and the power wires. It is adequate for your battery. Im not so sure though.
   Meehly (50%)
its an adapterset onbord jes jou must connect balance od power
   Chrisfatboy (100%)
Yes. You need both.

What connector is on the Rhino's? If not just change them.. I love the 5.5 plugs from HK.

Does it Cycle Pb and Lipos also ?
   Saurabh (98%)
No. This does not have a menu for cycling Lipo or Pb. you have do it manually. Discharge first and then charge again.

Anyone know if this charger beeps or makes a noise when it's done charging? minor feature but pretty important to me...
   Henry. (84%)
Yes it sounds a little special sound during some seconds when the battery are charged and the sound is a little high as well.

Its about a year since i bought this charger and its by far the best charger i have ever own.
   Saurabh (98%)
Yes. Once the charging or discharging is complete, the charger beeps for 30 secs. One of the really good chargers for sure... Just amazing value for money. It has a mettalic body. But beware... it does not come with manual or any MULTICONNECTOR. be sure to buy a multiconnector plugs with it. Like the octopus charging harness.
   berrykooiman (-4%)
Yes it beeps but you shut it off in the menu
   growmaster4 (48%)
yes it will beep to let you know its done
   misterq (42%)
yes it does have a beep feature
   Peckes (27%)
Yes, it beeps 3-4 times after it's done charging, and it's configurable from menu, you can turn it on/off.
   dertuman (58%)
Yes it does.
   arfonzo (60%)
Yes if you like.
The sounds are configurable in the menu.
Beep buttons and at the final charge.
   Miroslav (67%)
Yeah, it beeps and makes a lot of noise when it's done. In my opinion bit too much, it seams to beep for ever when you have it on the kitchen table, but it's useful when you at the field and charging your packs from car battery.
   Chrisfatboy (100%)
Yep.. Sure does make a noise.
   Echo51 (42%)
It makes one hell of a racket, and its hard to miss *)

This may be a silly question, but I have a lead-acid 12V 7Ah battery. I should be able to use that, right? And does that mean the charger will get 7amps of current? Left over from my glow days... Thanks
   mattyhawk (55%)
Yes, it does work on Gel Cells / Lead Acid, but not 7A, charge at .7A.
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.
   Jonathan (67%)
Thanks much. In that case, I'm going to use this 200W PC PSU not getting any use.
   Anthony (72%)
i think so, the charger can produce 5amps although its not a true reading its slightly lower than stated good value for money charger thast for sure i bought a few of these and sold a couple on
   fordfm (46%)
Charge current is 0,4-0.7A , not large. Battary is boil with 7A :).
   Echo51 (42%)
Depends on the quality and age of the battery, you should be able to charge, but except low voltage dropouts when charing at 5-6A :)

I just purchased this Turnigy Accucel-6 Balancer/Charger and upon plugging in a battery I get "connection break", I've tried 4 diffrent batteries and I get the same on all 4, anyone have any ideas? Is it me or the charger?
   berrykooiman (-4%)
I had the same problem. Only solution is to buy the power supply offered by HobbyKing.
   Jon (100%)
I had the same problem when using only the "BALANCE" port without the heavier Deans connector hooked up
   fordfm (46%)
check plug and connectors.
   Andrew (84%)
Problem solved, I wasn't familiar with this model until now but BOTH leads have to be plugged in and it will work just fine. Something that simple wiped me out!

Rodolfo (40%)
Hey, I just ordered this charger/balancer, but I do not see where I got the 4 bonus points that one is suppose to be rewarded. Anyone know how the "4.0 bonus points" thing works?
   Muza (44%)
Hi Rodolfo, in your account page, on the right side, just under the "View Cart" there's a box saying "$ xxx points" Next time you buy something, you can use them as a discount on the checkout page. I hope that helps.
   Rodolfo (40%)
That does help, thank you. My other question is where did the bonus 4 points go? I only got the points from purchases which didn't even add up to 4 points. I'm really hoping this is a delayed thing, and not a mistake...
   Muza (44%)
Hi Rodolfo, That's weird. Because I ordered these on two separate orders (one for my brother) and on both orders I got 4 points. Check your order invoice and see if you already cached in any points during the checkout (as a discount)? Otherwise I'd click that "Live support" button, on the top of the screen and have a short chat with the support.
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.
   Muxa (63%)
I had the same situation with these 4 points. :( Communicating with Live Support did not solve the situation. They said that these points is temp and can be removed anytime. You can't proove that this action was in this product while ordering. It's a very dissapointed case. Probably it is a trick to solve more items...
   berrykooiman (-4%)
You get the points after delivery
   growmaster4 (48%)
it will be in your account details, just choose to turn them in on your next purchase
   fordfm (46%)
bonus points may be used with next order on 3 pages when process checkout.

Which AC 110V power supply do I need for the Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories? thank you
   Muza (44%)
Hi Nortony, save the money. Just get an old 16 Volt IBM laptop power adapter (1-5$) at any surplus. They are usually rated for 4-4.5A and thats more than 50W making them a perfect match for this charer.
   berrykooiman (-4%)
Best is to buy the power supply offered by Hobbyking.
   Chrisfatboy (100%)
Get the 5 amp supply from HK. Works very well.

   Saurabh (98%)
english plz
   rudeboy (65%)
i have 2 of this chargers, one from january 2010, one fro, june. they differ in printing. the new one shows too less mAh that were charged. But the cut off voltage is ok (approx 4,19V per cell). Does anyone other have this problem or does know how to solve this? Or is it caused by bad shunts (if there are shunts used)?

Hello!
I have an adapter 12V 1,5A. Can I use it with this charger?
   Morten (55%)
yes you can use a 12V 1,5A. But if you do so, you cant charge higher then (12x1,5=18Watts). wuld be better to get a powersuply who can delivere 50Watts. Im using an old Ibm laptop charger for powersuply. (16V 4,5A = 72Watts) that works perfectly :D
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.
   Saurabh (98%)
yes you may use the said adapter if you are charging small batteries.... but it is advisible to use a laptop adapter instead as mentioned by Morten in the above post.
   Huygens (39%)
it is better that you use a 15v 5a adaptater
   fordfm (46%)
Yes. But better find 14V-15V power supply.
   arfonzo (60%)
Yes, but only will charge at 1 Amp.
   Turpin (100%)
If you charge your Lipo under 1,5A , yes.

Hi, I'm planning to buy this charger but I'm not sure to correclty understand specifications. It says: Circuit power: Max Charge: 50W Charge Current Range: .1~6.0A Does it means that tha maximum charging current for a 6 cells Lipo will be roughly 50W/(3.75*6)=2.2A? I'm planning to buy a 6 cells Lipo pack *4000mhA but I have the suspect that this charger will be not "strong" enough. Thanks for your advise! Stefano
   Waco (75%)
Yes, your calculation is right. Because Power=Voltage*Current, for 6S Battery you can set charging current about 2A only.
   vynner (59%)
yes its strong enough to charge a 6s lipo.. i've been using this to charge my 5000mah 6s lipo no problems. a very economical yet very good and accurate charger.. i've even used it to charge my bikes pb battery.. very good charger recommended!!!
   Lorenzis (63%)
Thank you guys for your adivses. I think I will go for the Accucel-8 150W 7A that seems more suitable for my case. Do you think that the power supply named GTpower SuperConD Adapter 100-240v 12.5A will fit for the Accucel-8 charger? Thanks again
   Anthony (72%)
this charger can charge at 6amps mine does 5amps its the earlier model it will be fine for 6slipo- for good batterly life you shouldnt charge a 6s4mah more than 2Aanyway, evven though you can charge it at like 8amps
   berrykooiman (-4%)
It's better to buy a more professional charger if you want to charge 6s packs * 4000mah. This charger will work but speedcharging at double speed will be impossible.

Hello, this charger says that can use for LiFe batteries, LiFe = LiFePo4??? In the program there isn't the possibility to select something different than LiPo, NiCd, NiMh and Lead. Can I charge A123 batteries?
   Saurabh (98%)
Yes, you can charge the 123 cells as well. In the program setup, choose the lipo type as Life.
   Sam-Q (60%)
A123 cells are LifePO4 type so yes you can
   vynner (59%)
for lifePo batteries.. you gotta change the settings in the user program go to lipo setting then change the the lipo charge to lifePo.. then to charge your lipo it'll be vice versa..
